This isn’t your ordinary blog about “goldendoodles”. This is really has nothing to do with our precious “Arkansas Raised Goldendoodles”.
Sometimes in life, we find ourselves feeling broken or taken advantage of. Sometimes this happens out of the goodness of our heart and other times it just happens due to circumstances we cannot control. While driving today I caught myself feeling angry and bitter towards others. I caught myself thinking “God, I don’t know why this always seems to happen to me”, I finally get comfortable and something seems to crash down, again. But then God spoke to me in these simple lyrics,
“So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are”
Carrying the burden of anger and resentment isn’t what God wants from me. That isn’t why he put me on this Earth. He didn’t create me to walk around angry at others that have hurt me. He created me with love. He created me to show his LOVE every day. Sometimes forgiving those that have hurt us takes days, weeks, and even years. You may not find forgvness in human flesh, but in Jesus Christ. You may never hear “I’m sorry” from the ones that have hurt you, but you can ask God to help you forgive them through his love. Through God’s grace, I am working to find the peace of forgiveness. The part of the song that says, “You’re not too far, so lay down your hurt and lay down your heart”, made me hear what God was telling me this morning. If you are going through something, big or small, God hears you. He may not fix our problems immediately, but in the end, if we allow him to take control of the situation he will fix the brokenhearted.
I know that usually this would be a cute blog about our goldendoodles, but today, God told me others needed to hear what I’m feeling because there is someone in this big world that my little blog might help.
