What is a Standard Goldendoodle?
Now, the question is… What is determined to as a “Standard” goldendoodle. The size of a goldendoodle can vary between, miniature, medium, or standard. The miniature goldendoodles that we raise are around 30-30 lbs at maturity. These little guys typically tend to look more like a poodle due to the small bone structure that they have. The medium sized doodles are around 40-50 lbs. They are typically the size of your average golden retriever. They will have a more sturdy build, but they are not extremly large dogs for the most part. The standards are going to be you “big dog”. The standard goldendoodles will range between 50-70 lbs. at maturity. These guys are what everyone thinks about when they think goldendoodle. They have the large paws, long legs, and thick body types.
Size Matters
When determining what type of goldendoodle you want size is something you definatly need to consider. Are you in the market for a large companion and friend? If you want a big dog, the standard goldendoodle is exactly what you want. If you’re needing a dog that is smaller, but you still want a goldendoodle, a mini or medium would be your best bet. The size of the dog does matter to a lot of our customers. Some people say “the bigger the better”, where others want one that is smaller to fit into their lifestyle. Whichever type of person you are, we can find the perfect sized pup to fit your needs.
