Just one look at a Goldendoodle and you’ll have to have one. Everyone loves the the beautiful, fluffy coats and loving personalities that Goldendoodles are known for; however, some people just prefer smaller dogs. If a Standard Goldendoodle is too big for your liking, consider a Miniature Goldendoodle. Mini Goldendoodles pack all of the wonderful traits and qualities that Goldendoodles are known for into a smaller package.

How big are Mini Goldendoodles?

People tend to image tiny dogs that fit in purses or teacups when they think of miniature dogs. Goldendoodles do not come in teacup sizes, however. There is no such thing as a Mini Golden Retriever, which means that breeding a toy or teacup Goldendoodle is nearly impossible.

Instead, Miniature Goldendoodles are a medium-sized dog.

Standard Goldendoodles can weigh up to 100 pounds. The Standard Goldendoodle puppies from Platinum Goldies typically weigh 50 to 60 pounds fully grown.

Miniature Goldendoodles, also called Medium Goldendoodles, are about half the size of Standard Goldendoodles. Mini Goldendoodles reach 30 to 35 pounds at maturity.

Why would you want a Mini Goldendoodle?

There are several reasons why a smaller, medium-sized Goldendoodle would be a good choice for you.

You might want a smaller dog if you are older or you have a smaller frame. It can be difficult for some people to handle larger dogs, even if those dogs are well-trained and well-behaved.

A Mini/Medium Goldendoodle is a good option for those with a smaller living space. Even Standard Goldendoodles can live in apartments, but Mini Goldendoodles take up less space.

Goldendoodles are adorable no matter what size they are, but some people just prefer the look of a smaller dog.
