What’s a Goldendoodle?
Goldendoodles are “designer dogs” — not a new breed of dog, but a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. This cross gives you the best of both breeds. How big do Goldendoodles grow?
Platinum Goldendoodles puppies come in three sizes:
- Mini: 25-30 lbs at maturity
- Medium: 35-45 lbs at maturity
- Standard: 55-70 lbs at maturity
You will sometimes see ads for “toy” Goldendoodles. There are toy poodles, a very small sized breed of poodle. But there are no toy Golden Retrievers, so you can’t really have a toy Goldendoodle. Find more detail on Goldendoodles sizes.
What’s all that FB jazz?
An F1 Goldendoodle is the first cross (that’s where the f1 comes from) dog. This will be the offspring of a Golden Retriever and a Poodle.
An F1b Goldendoodle is the offspring of a Goldendoodle and a Poodle. These dogs have tighter curls and shed less, compared with an F1 Goldendoodle.
