Is a Goldendoodle the right dog for your family?

If you have been considering adding a Goldendoodle to your family, here are some basic breed characteristics that might help you in your decision.

Goldendoodles are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. So, they are considered a designer breed or mixed breed.

Like both of the parents, you will find that your new goldendoodle puppy will be both smart, moderately active, friendly, and love to please their owners.

Goldendoodles come in many sizes, so you will want to make sure that you factor this in when deciding on a puppy.

Their normal  range for height is  from 13 to 24 inches at the shoulder and they can weigh from 30 lbs (mini) to 65-100 lbs (standards) based on their size.

The Goldendoodle breed is very affectionate and they are super friendly with kids, adults, and other animals.

Because they are extremely intelligent, they are used a lot as therapy and service dogs. They respond great to praise and catch on quickly to commands.

Grooming of your new goldendoodle puppy or adult goldendoodle, needs to maintained on a regular basis.

To ensure that your goldendoodle does not end up with a matted coat, we recommend making sure that you brush regularly with a comb that will get all the way down to the skin.

They do require regular trips to the groomer, but they are absolutely stunning and when taken care of properly are beyond gorgeous.

Goldendoodles are known to come in different colors, just like their Poodle parent.

We have been raising Goldendoodle puppies for many years, and have never had a client that was unhappy with their new found family member.

So, stop hesitating and take the plunge. A goldendoodle could be just what the doctor ordered!
