5 Reasons to Love Doodle Dogs

Doodle dogs are a popular type of dog that combine a Poodle with a different dog breed. While Doodle dogs are often talked about collectively, there can be a lot of variation between different types of Doodles; any dog with mixed Poodle parentage is technically a Doodle.

Still, there are certain qualities that your can expect to see from properly socialized and trained Doodle dogs. Here are five (of many) reasons to love Doodles!

Hypoallergenic coats

One of the main reasons that people love Doodles is their non-shedding or light-shedding coats. Even though there is no such thing as a non-allergenic dog, many doodles are hypoallergenic.

Loving and loyal disposition

Doodle dogs are known for their happy and affectionate personalities. When you bring a Doodle into your family, you have a friend for life. If the reason you aren’t a “cat person” is because cats are too aloof and disinterested, a Doodle is the right dog for you.

Great for families and first-time dog owners

Doodles don’t know the meaning of the word stranger; they are sociable, easy to train, and they’re great with small children and other animals. They’re forgiving dogs, and they don’t take it personally if you make missteps as a first-time dog owner.

Doodle dogs go with the flow

Most doodles are adaptable dogs. They typically have average exercise needs, and they easily adjust to your family’s lifestyle. If you like to go for hikes in the woods, they’ll stay in stride. Doodle dogs love to cuddle and lounge, too.

Most Doodles can adjust to different living situations, too. They’ll take advantage of a large fenced-in yard, but they can be quite content living in a smaller apartment if you take them outside to meet their activity needs each day.

There’s a Doodle dog for everyone

Doodles come in lots of different sizes. For  example, our mini Goldendoodles reach 30-35 pounds at maturity. Our Standard Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles reach 50-60 pounds when they are fully grown. Other Doodle dogs can reach up to 100 pounds.

They also have many different colors and markings, depending on their parentage.
